More than seventy years ago, Henning Österberg (founder of the Heritage Association) began his good work of giving Sundbyberg schoolchildren an imaginative education about local heritage at the museum of the time. This has been carried forward to today, as the collections have been preserved and new knowledgeable guides have taken over, alongside some modernisation of the displays. It’s something everyone who grew up in Sundbyberg has in common – being fascinated, and perhaps a little scared, by the stories told in the Viking Room together with our own Stone Age skeleton, Hildur.
Is this wonderful tradition at risk of disappearing from 2027? So all of the town’s schools should book a visit while there’s still time!
